They are not specifically only found in Cannabis, there are other plants and even bacteria that can produce cannabinoids under the correct conditions.

While there is always more being learned about these compounds daily, we thought it might be helpful to those who are unfamiliar with the language and the concepts, if we went ahead and explained some of it for you. While we won't go into overly complex explanations here, for those of you who are well versed in Canna Science, we will go into some more technical details and higher education based science for some of the others.
